Tactical Quick Answer

Castle Crashers has exactly 12 Steam achievements, a much shorter list than most players expect. The multiplayer entries are the real blockers, since Medic! and Kay Eye Ess Ess both need a four-character game. Two commonly cited achievements are not on Steam at all: You Are Insane is a PlayStation 3 trophy, and Glork was redefined into The Final Countdown.

  • Traditional: Complete the game using any character.
  • The Traitor: Defeat any boss while playing as one of that boss's own minions. Barbarian Boss as the Barbarian, Medusa as Snakey, or the Evil Wizard as the Cult Minion all work. This is not simply beating the final boss, which is the most common misreading of this achievement.
  • Deer Trainer: Navigate the Abandoned Mill without hitting any obstacles. Memorize the jump timings.

Combat​

  • Melee Is Best: Defeat any end boss without using magic. On Steam and Remastered the requirement specifies an end boss, so an ordinary mid-level boss will not count. Only the older Xbox 360 and PS3 wording accepted any boss.
  • Maximum Firepower: Using the catapult at Flowery Field, fling a knight at maximum power. Wait for the meter to fill completely before launching.
  • Treasure Hunter: Find and dig up ten buried items. Get the shovel and look for "X" marks on the ground.
  • Conscientious Objector: Complete Home Castle through Barbarian Boss without attacking any enemies. Play in multiplayer and let teammates fight.

Unequip Rammy and Hawkster before attempting Conscientious Objector. Both attack on their own, and Rammy grants you XP when it does, which is the signal the game actually checks. An orb doing the work still counts as you doing the work.

Multiplayer​

  • Medic!: In a four-player game, resuscitate each of your fallen comrades at least once. It needs four characters, not four separate humans, so four controllers on one system qualifies. It also has to happen within one continuous session, meaning you cannot return to the main menu partway through, though it does not need to be a single level.
  • Arena Master: Win 40 Arena online matches.
  • The Final Countdown: Survive until 2:30 in a Back Off Barbarian match. Enemy speed ramps up hard, so learn the tile patterns. This achievement is a rewritten version of the original Glork, which required 20 ranked All You Can Quaff wins. The Steam achievement ID is still ACH_GLORK under the hood.
  • Kay Eye Ess Ess: Collect all four Princesses' kisses in a multiplayer game, which means winning the PvP duel at the end of Barbarian Boss, Cyclops' Fortress, Ice Castle, and Final Battle. You can spread this across multiple sessions, but it will not unlock if the other players are already dead when the princess is freed.

Completionist​

  • Animal Handler: Collect every Animal Orb the achievement tracks. Check the Animal Ark to see what you are missing.

Achievements That Are Not on Steam​

Two commonly cited entries will never unlock on Steam:

  • You Are Insane (complete the game on Insane Mode) is a PlayStation 3 exclusive Gold trophy. Remastered removed it, so there is no Steam equivalent for clearing Insane Mode.
  • Glork no longer exists under that name. It was redefined into The Final Countdown when Back Off Barbarian replaced All You Can Quaff.
