Secrets and Challenges
Far Far West has zero Steam achievements, and the publisher has said they are planned for 1.0 and never Early Access. The game uses internal Challenges instead, spread across eight groups, and those are the unlock vectors for Hero Skins, Titles, Emotes, and exclusive Joker cards. Six of the seven playable maps hide an unmarked secret mission paying out a Unique Joker or a Mythic Hero Skin, and Jungle is the exception.
Far Far West has zero Steam achievements. The Steam store page shows no achievements section at all, and Fireshine Games has said on the Steam forums that they are planned for 1.0. Hunting Steam achievements now will yield nothing.
Instead, the game uses an internal progression system called Challenges. These function like achievements: they track across sessions and unlock Hero Skins, Titles, Emotes, exclusive Joker cards, gold, souls, hero XP, and map access.
:::caution Challenge totals move Community trackers currently disagree on the total, reporting anywhere from 80 to 99 depending on when they were last updated. The game is in active Early Access and challenges are still being added, so treat any fixed number, including one printed here, as a snapshot, not a constant. :::
Challenge Groupsโ
There are eight groups, two more than the commonly repeated six. "Combat" and "Mastery" are separate groups instead of one combined category, and Misc is easy to overlook entirely.
| Group | Focus |
|---|---|
| Story | Campaign progression milestones |
| Difficulty | Completing missions on specific difficulty tiers |
| Combat | Kill counts and damage thresholds |
| Mastery | Weapon and equipment milestones |
| Spells | Spell usage and school mastery |
| Gravekeeper | Finding hidden graves |
| Secrets | Completing hidden, unmarked missions |
| Misc | Everything that fits nowhere else |
Secret Missionsโ
These are the most valuable and well-hidden challenges in the game. Six of the seven playable maps contain an unmarked mission rewarding a Unique Joker card or Mythic Hero Skin. The game provides zero hints about their existence.
:::warning Jungle is the exception Jungle has no secret mission joker or skin. Its tracked secrets are its 10 graves, three music disc fragments (Train of Shame), and a waterfall door with no publicly known key. Players who assume every map hides a secret joker waste a lot of time searching Jungle for something that is not there. :::
Desert Map: Cactus Dayโ
Reward: Cactus Day Joker
Scattered across the Desert map are six pairs of separated, sentient Cactus families. You must locate all twelve cacti and reunite each pair. The cacti are spread across the entire map, often hidden behind terrain features or inside buildings. Check every corner of the map before triggering the boss.
Far Far North Map: Jerry the Snowmanโ
Reward: Cariboo Skin (Mythic)
Three pieces of a sentient snowman named Jerry (head, torso, base) are scattered across the Far Far North map. Find all three pieces and reassemble Jerry at the designated location to complete the secret mission and unlock the Mythic Cariboo skin.
Canyon Map: The Medallion Doorโ
Reward: Pick Pick Joker
Four hidden Canyon Medallions are placed throughout the Canyon map. Locating all four opens a secret door that houses the Pick Pick Joker. The medallions are small and easy to miss. Search high ledges, cave interiors, and behind waterfalls.
Area 41 Mapโ
Reward: Anti-Gravity Falls Joker
Complete the unmarked secret mission objective on the Area 41 map. The specifics of this mission are community-sourced and involve interacting with specific environmental objects in the correct sequence.
Far West Mapโ
Reward: Bell Shot Joker
Complete the unmarked secret mission objective on the Far West map.
Woodlands Mapโ
Reward: Shroom Grave Joker
Complete the unmarked secret mission objective on the Woodlands map.
The Gravekeeper Challengeโ
Every playable map contains 10 hidden graves, which across the seven maps means 70 graves in total. Jungle's 10 are not special, despite how often players single them out.
The number 30 does appear in this system, but as a cumulative milestone reward threshold and not the total to find. Treat 30 as a checkpoint on the way to 70, not the finish line.
Graves are small, easy to overlook, and often hidden behind destructible walls, inside caves, or on elevated terrain that requires spell-assisted movement (like Boing) to reach. Search every map systematically. Mark grave locations you find and cross-reference with your squad in co-op.
Grave progress persists globally. A grave you collect stays collected even if you die on that run, so grave hunting is one of the few activities in this game with no risk of lost progress.
Notable Non-Secret Challengesโ
These challenges are visible in the Challenges menu but their unlock conditions are not always obvious.
| Challenge | Unlock Condition | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Warlock Title | Cast a total of 3,000 spells across all play sessions | Warlock Title |
| Sheriff Title | Successfully complete 50 mission drops | Sheriff Title |
:::info The Hoarder Joker is not a challenge reward You will see "collect 30 Jokers in one run" listed as an unlock condition for the Hoarder Joker. It is not a mechanic. Hoarder is a Mythic card costing 800 Souls, available from the Shop, the Gamba Machine, and missions. Only Unique weapon Jokers are challenge-gated. :::
The Mapsโ
Seven maps are playable: Desert, Far Far North, Canyon, Area 41, Far West, Woodlands, and Jungle, alongside the Town.
An eighth region, Hellfire, appears on the world map as a faded locked area. It is not playable yet. Unlock instructions involving Jungle dungeons and ancient scrolls already circulate among players, but those are speculation, not documented mechanics.
Playable Charactersโ
The game features 22 playable robot cowboy skins distributed across five rarity tiers: Normal (7), Fine (4), Prime (5), Mythic (4), and Legendary (2). These skins, ranging from the default "John Doe" to the Mythic "Jeralt" and the Prime "Otto," are purely cosmetic and provide absolutely zero statistical advantages.
Skins are unlocked by completing specific in-game Challenges or bought with Gold at the Rootin' Tootin' Shack, a building in the Town marked with a white cowboy hat icon. The secret mission rewards listed above include some of the rarest Mythic skins in the game.

Cactus Day. Six pairs of separated, sentient Cactus families are scattered across the Desert map. Locate all twelve cacti and reunite each pair to earn the Cactus Day Joker.
