Achievements
Mini Motorways features a simple achievement list. None of the achievements are missable, and the vast majority are earned simply by playing the game and surviving as long as possible on various maps.
Milestones and Map Achievements
The bulk of the achievements are tied directly to your performance on specific city maps. Each map typically has two milestones:
- Tourist (e.g., "Los Angeles Tourist"): The required trip score varies depending on the map's difficulty (e.g., Los Angeles requires 200, Moscow requires 300, and Dubai requires 400).
- Commuter (e.g., "Los Angeles Commuter"): Complete 1,000 trips on the specific map.
Hitting 1,000 trips requires a solid grasp of color segregation and advanced blocking techniques. You cannot brute-force your way to 1,000 trips with a messy grid.
Cumulative Infrastructure Usage
Several achievements track your lifetime placement of specific infrastructure tools. These persist across all your games.
| Tool | Low Tier | High Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Roundabouts | The Roundabout Way (25) | Roundabout City (100) |
| Tunnels | A Ton of Tunnels (25) | Tunnel Vision (50) |
| Bridges | Bridge the Gap (50) | A Bridge to Everywhere (100) |
| Traffic Lights | Boogie Lights (25) | I See the Lights (50) |
| Motorways | Many, Many Motorways (25) | Fifty Rich (50) |
Note: There is also the "Bridge Builder" achievement (54.8% global unlock), which requires building a single bridge that is 10 tiles or longer.
Known Telemetry Bug
Achievements tied to cumulative use over multiple games (e.g., Tunnel Vision) frequently appear "stuck" mid-game. The game's internal telemetry compiles the total number of infrastructure pieces used only upon reaching the Game Over screen or manually losing the game. If you place 20 tunnels to farm the achievement and then force-quit the application or abandon the run via the menu, the progress is entirely lost. Let your city naturally fail to make sure the stats log to the Steam servers.
Challenge Achievements
The game features daily and weekly challenge modes, which apply unique modifiers to the maps.
- Daily Commute: Participate in a "Daily Challenge".
- Weekly Commute: Participate in a "Weekly Challenge".
You do not need to top the leaderboards to earn these. You simply need to play the mode.
Hidden Achievements
There are a few hidden achievements in the game. The most notable are:
- Wood Riddance (91.4%): Destroy a single tree by placing a road directly through it.
- Vanish Into Pin Air (88.6%): Clear a "big pin" (a critically high passenger backlog indicated by an enlarged, pulsing icon) from a destination just before the game-over timer fully expires and ends the run.
- One of Everything (29.1%): Successfully use at least one of every available upgrade type (motorway, bridge, tunnel, roundabout, traffic light) simultaneously on a single map.
- Driver's License (98.0%): Complete the tutorial. If you skipped the tutorial, go back and play it from the main menu.
Tips for Achievement Hunters
If you are struggling to hit the 1,000-trip milestone on a specific map, stop playing the challenge modes for that city. The modifiers in daily/weekly challenges often make long-term survival much harder than the standard game mode. Stick to the classic mode and focus purely on efficiency.
