Artifacts & Loadouts

Unlike the first game, Necrosmith 2 limits players to only four active artifact slots. This restriction forces strict build optimization and tactical decision-making, rather than relying on infinite power creep.

Storage Limitations

Because you can only equip four artifacts simultaneously, exploring libraries and looting feels less about raw accumulation and more about finding the right tools for your current goal.

Treat artifacts as situational tools rather than permanent upgrades. You should adapt your loadout based on whether you are trying to kill a boss, survive Chaos Mode, or farm for missing secret recipe components.

The Boss Hunter

Designed for taking down the Pope, the Slime, or the Reaper.

  • Cooldown Reset: Grants a 35% chance to not skip a spell cooldown. This is practically mandatory for late-game boss execution, allowing you to permanently stun-lock and execute high-HP targets with the Lightning spell.
  • Vampirism Artifacts: To keep your Titan or melee breachers alive against heavy AoE damage.

The Recipe Completionist (Sweeper)

Designed for sweeping lower-tier discs to farm gold and missing body parts without engaging in combat.

  • Roller-Skates: Provides a massive speed boost.
  • Magnet: Increases your collection radius.
  • View Range Artifacts (like the Telescope): Reveals the map faster.

Historical Bug Note: In version 1.0, the "Telescope" artifact caused severe game crashes when revealing the map on Disc 2. This was actively patched in version 1.0.1, so it is now safe to use.
