Endgame and Farming
Palworld endgame shifts from survival to optimization, meaning bases parked on ore, coal and sulfur clusters, Legendary Schematics farmed from Alpha Pals, and gold cycled through the 15 Black Marketeers for perfect trait Pals. Capture each Alpha in a sphere and then butcher it with a Meat Cleaver for two independent schematic rolls, accepting that butchering kills the Pal for good. The Awakening System then pushes your best Pals past their stat ceiling using Radiant Gems and World Tree Holy Water at an Ancient Workbench.
Once you reach the mid-to-late game, progression shifts from survival to optimization. Your primary goals become placing bases on top of high value resource nodes, farming Legendary Schematics from Alpha Pals, and cycling gold through Black Marketeers to acquire perfect trait Pals.
Optimal Base Locations
Industrial base placement revolves around overlapping clusters of un-minable resource nodes within the Palbox radius. The following coordinates represent the most efficient automation sites.
Ore and Coal, near Sealed Realm of the Guardian (180, -39)
The one site that appears on both the best-ore and best-coal lists, so it is the genuine dual-resource pick. Elevation and choke points help you defend it, though note that no source supports the popular claim that verticality "breaks the pathing algorithm" for raids. It makes defense easier, not automatic.
Sulfur and Coal, Mount Obsidian
These do not overlap as neatly as people wish. The best sulfur base is Mount Obsidian West at (-744, -442), and the best coal base is Mount Obsidian at (-571, -648). Both feed ammunition production at scale, but plan on two bases and not one.
When placing a Palbox at a resource site, stand directly on top of the densest cluster of nodes before dropping it. The blue radius ring should cover as many nodes as possible.
Black Marketeer Locations
Black Marketeers buy and sell Pals for gold. They are essential for cycling unwanted bred Pals for currency and purchasing rare specimens that carry optimal passive traits. These NPCs hide in specific locations:
There are 15 Black Marketeers across the map, not three. The three most commonly cited:

Visit Black Marketeers regularly. Their inventory rotates, and occasionally they stock Pals with rare passives like Artisan or Ferocious that save you hours of breeding.
Legendary Schematic Farming
Legendary Schematics (Tier 4 blueprints) provide massive stat upgrades over standard crafted equipment. They drop at very low rates from specific sources.

Note the Frostallion row. Alpha Frostallion drops the Plasma Cannon schematic, not the Pal Metal Helmet. Pal Metal Helm Schematic 4 comes from Snow Dungeon chests at 0.062%, which is a completely different and far longer grind.
The double-roll trick is real and documented, not an exploit. Capture the target Alpha to trigger the first drop roll, then take it home, equip a Meat Cleaver, and butcher it for a second independent roll from the same table. The obvious cost: butchered Pals die permanently.
Expansion Resource Economies
As you enter the endgame expansions, your resource pipelines will need to pivot to new materials.
Crude Oil and Plasteel: Crude Oil comes from the dark patches on Sakurajima, and the strongest extractor bases are Desiccated Desert (289, 243), four Sakurajima sites (-646, 270 / -552, 192 / -512, 171 / -493, 109), and Feybreak (-1733, -1455). "Oasis Isle" is not a place in this game, and Sunlit Isle (387, -453) is real but is not an oil site.
v1.0.3 made oil cheaper to set up and faster to pull. It reduced the building costs of the Crude Oil Extractor and the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor, and increased the crude oil production speed of both.
Plasteel is made at an Electric Furnace from 5 Crude Oil, 5 Paldium Fragment and 10 Ore, and it gates the Ultimate Sphere. It is not, however, the foundation of all top-tier gear. That role belongs to Hexolite.
Chromite and Hexolite Quartz: Chromite is buried underground, found with a Metal Detector on certain islands or with Smokie's partner skill "Dig, Smokie! Dig!". Hexolite Quartz is a rare crystal found only in Feybreak, mined from Hexolite Quartz Mines. The two alloy 1:1 into Hexolite, and Hexolite is what actually crafts the Plasma Cannon, Hexolite Armor and the Exotic Sphere.
Fishing: Added by the Tides of Terraria crossover. The Pal that boosts fishing yields is Jelliette, whose "Jelliette Drop" gives +55% items from fishing. Jellroy is the wrong Pal: its skill boosts items from salvaging by the same 55%. Neptilius has no fishing partner skill at all, carrying Legend and Lunker instead. Other fishing-aiding Pals are Gloopie, Whalaska, Whalaska Ignis, Solmora and Solmora Lux.
Events and Activities
Pal Arena: Sits at (626, 36), on a remote island southeast of the desert and northeast of Eastern Wild Island, and not in the Desiccated Desert proper. Since v0.6.0 it is not multiplayer-exclusive: there is an NPC challenge ladder, three Pals per side, RP-based ranking, and an Arena Merchant selling Tier-4 schematics for Battle Tokens.
Meteorite Events: Random events around the Palpagos Islands and the only source of Meteorite Fragments. Exactly three Pals spawn only during them: Selyne, Xenovader and Xenogard. They begin only after you defeat your first Tower Boss, and Selyne always spawns from Sakurajima meteorites.
The Awakening System (Version 1.0)
The Awakening System unlocks a Pal's hidden potential, granting new active skills and substantially higher base stats. The Ancient Workbench is Technology 67 and costs exactly 50 Soralite Ingots, 5 AI Cores and 20 Bio Batteries, and that is where you craft Awakening Crystals from Radiant Gems and World Tree Holy Water. Crystals are per-element, so a Dark Awakening Crystal takes 50 Dark Radiant Gems and 10 World Tree Holy Water.
Radiant Gems drop from Level 70+ Pals, with Smokie Cryst, Celesdir Noct, Loomen, Majex and Dualith Noct at 50%, and from Level 80 World Tree Pals. Pal Expeditions do not appear in the drop data as a source.
Where the Holy Water comes from. v1.0.3 added World Tree Holy Water to the rewards for World Tree expeditions, World Tree fishing and the Large Fishing Pond, and increased the amount you get from Pals in The World Tree area and from Teafant Spring. The same patch extended its duration and cut its weight from 1 to 0.1, so a stack of it costs almost nothing to carry.
Echobone Locations
The Ancient Civilization Researcher at the Deserted Islet (-174, 34) asks you to collect four bones, and the questline gives no explicit UI waypoints for them. The bones craft the Echoing Flute, which calls forth Panthalus, the Legendary Ocean King. All four sit on giant whale skeletons:

One catch on Selyne: it is only obtainable during Meteorite Events, so you cannot simply go and find one.
Dark type Pals like Selyne and Splatterina do not sleep and keep working through the night, which is a real and large gain to 24-hour output. The trade-off the tier lists skip is that they are more prone to sanity drain and overwork, so they still need feeding and a Hot Spring even though they never need a bed.
