100% Badge Guide
PEAK uses a badge system for its Steam achievements. The game calls them Accolades, and each one is represented as a physical badge on your scout's sash. Earning badges unlocks cosmetic items within the Passport customization system. The current total is 54 badges across the base game and post-launch updates (Mesa, Roots, and subsequent patches).
Every badge is earnable on any difficulty, including Tenderfoot (the easiest setting). None are missable because every run starts fresh from the Shore. If you fail to complete a badge's requirements, try again on your next run.
Completing the original pre-Mesa set of badges awards the "Legacy Achiever" cosmetic. Post-launch updates have expanded the pool from 32 to 54 badges. Check the Accolades menu in-game (pause screen) for the full current list.
Zone Completion Badges
These are awarded for surviving each biome and igniting the campfire at the end of the zone transition.
| Badge | How to Unlock | Cosmetic Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Beachcomber Badge | Climb past the Shore. | Straw Hat |
| Trailblazer Badge | Climb past the Tropics. | Fedora |
| Forestry Badge | Climb past the Roots biome. | Gnome Hat, Gnome Costume |
| Nomad Badge | Climb past the Mesa biome. | Desert Hat |
| Alpinist Badge | Climb past the Alpine. | Aviator Hat |
| Vulcanology Badge | Climb past the Caldera. | Tropical Outfit |
| Peak Badge | Reach the summit and board the rescue helicopter. | Scoutmaster Hat |
These come naturally as you play through the game. A full summit run on a day that includes Roots and Mesa earns all seven in one go. The Forestry and Nomad badges only appear when those biomes rotate into the daily seed.
Cumulative Lifetime Badges
These track statistical progress across multiple expeditions. They accumulate over time and reward persistent play.
| Badge | How to Unlock | Cosmetic Reward | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| High Altitude Badge | Ascend 5,000 total vertical meters across all runs. | Bandana | Comes naturally over time. No special effort needed. |
| Bouldering Badge | Anchor 10 pitons into rock faces (total). | Anime Eyes | Cumulative. Place pitons whenever you have extras. |
| Toxicology Badge | Restore 200 total poison damage using Antidotes, First Aid Kits, or Medicinal Roots. | Vampire Teeth | Seek out poison sources and heal through them. The Roots biome offers plenty of Spore damage to heal. |
| Cooking Badge | Process 20 items over a heat source (total). | Chef Hat | Cook every food item you find at every campfire. Hits 20 within a few sessions. |
| Happy Camper Badge | Trigger 5 distinct "Morale Boosts" by igniting campfires with two or more co-op partners nearby. | Scout Cookie Uniform | Stick together in co-op and light each campfire as a group. |
Food and Resource Badges
These require specific eating, cooking, or foraging behaviors during a single expedition.
| Badge | How to Unlock | Cosmetic Reward | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gourmand Badge | Cook and eat four specific items in one expedition: a Coconut Half, a Honeycomb, a Yellow Winterberry, and an Egg. | Monster Eyes, Inverted V Mouth | The Yellow Winterberry is high-risk (+35 Extra Stamina but inflicts 30 Hunger, 50 Heat, and 20 Injury). Cook it first. |
| Naturalist Badge | Escape the island without eating pre-packaged food (Energy Drinks, Trail Mix, etc.). Raw foraged goods and cooked marshmallows are allowed. | Flower Crown | Rely on coconuts, berries, mushrooms, fish, and honeycomb. Avoid anything manufactured. |
Climbing and Endurance Badges
These reward physical climbing achievements. Some are cumulative, others must be done in a single expedition.
| Badge | How to Unlock | Cosmetic Reward | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Endurance Badge | Climb 50 meters purely vertically without your feet touching flat ground. | Ninja Headband | Piton platforms count as ground. You need a genuine 50-meter wall climbed in one go. The Alpine and Caldera have the tallest unbroken walls. Eat well before attempting. |
| Knot Tying Badge | Expend 100 meters of rope using Rope Spools or Cannons in one expedition. | Bow | Carry multiple rope spools. The Shore's gentle terrain lets you lay rope freely without pressure. |
| Hasty Badge (Speed Climber) | Escape the island in under one hour. | Courier Hat | Requires a fast, efficient run. Know the biomes, skip looting anything unnecessary, and keep moving. Easier on Tenderfoot difficulty. |
| Balloon Badge | Complete an escape without taking any fall damage. | (Verify in-game) | Climb conservatively. Use rope and pitons to create safe paths. Tenderfoot difficulty helps. |
| Leave No Trace Badge | Escape without deploying any artificial climbing aids (no ropes, pitons, chains, or stoves). Vines, Shelf Fungus, and Magic Beans are allowed. | Glasses with Mustache | Requires raw climbing skill. You must manage stamina using only natural rest spots and food. One of the harder badges. |
| Aeronautics Badge | Equip five or more balloons simultaneously to achieve flight. | Astronaut Outfit | Balloons are rare items. Hoard them across a run and equip all at once. Easier in co-op where teammates can hold balloons for you. |
The Endurance Badge requires 50 meters of continuous upward climbing without any ground contact. Piton platforms count as ground. Pick a wall with good grip surfaces and eat cooked food for the stamina bonus before starting the attempt.
Survival Badges
These test your ability to handle specific hazards or survive under harsh conditions.
| Badge | How to Unlock | Cosmetic Reward | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cool Cucumber Badge | Cross the Caldera without taking burn damage. | (Verify in-game) | Stay on dark (cool) rock surfaces. Scout routes with binoculars before climbing. Avoid all glowing/hot surfaces. |
| Frostbite Badge | Survive the Alpine without using a Lantern or any heat source. | (Verify in-game) | Your max stamina shrinks continuously from Frostbite. Eat cooked food for the stamina bonus and climb in short, fast bursts. |
| Survivalist Badge | Escape the island without ever losing consciousness from stamina depletion. | Scoutmaster Outfit | You cannot pass out even once. Eat constantly, cook everything, and climb conservatively. One of the hardest badges in the game. |
| Lone Wolf Badge | Complete the entire game solo (no co-op partners). | Wolf Ears | Queue into a solo lobby. Every biome and badge is completable alone, but you have no safety net for falls. |
Co-op Badges
These require multiplayer and specific interactions with teammates.
| Badge | How to Unlock | Cosmetic Reward | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clutch Badge | Revive three teammates by interacting with Altars in a single expedition. | (Verify in-game) | Your teammates need to die three times and you need to reach Altars to revive them each time. Happens naturally in difficult runs. |
| First Aid Badge | Heal co-op partners for 100 total injury HP using medical items in one expedition. | Medic Hat | Carry bandages and First Aid Kits. Heal teammates after every hazard encounter. The Caldera provides plenty of healing opportunities. |
| Mentorship Badge | Climb more than 200 meters ahead of trailing co-op partners, triggering the Scoutmaster entity to spawn. | Inverted Eyes | The Scoutmaster is a terrifying 1-on-1 encounter. Push far ahead of your team on a long vertical section. |
| Happy Camper Badge | (See Cumulative Lifetime Badges above.) | Scout Cookie Uniform | Light 5 campfires with 2+ co-op partners nearby. |
| Participation Badge | Have a friend escape the island without you (you must be dead as a ghost). | (Verify in-game) | Coordinate with a friend. Die intentionally in the Caldera or Kiln, then cheer them on as a ghost. |
The Mentorship Badge does not involve guiding new players to the summit (as previously documented). It triggers when you climb 200+ meters ahead of your co-op partners, forcing a special Scoutmaster encounter.
Secret and Special Badges
These involve hidden objectives, rare item spawns, or unusual interactions.
| Badge | How to Unlock | Cosmetic Reward | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Applied Esoterica Badge | Find the Book of Bones (from Ancient Luggage or a pristine Altar) and use it to revive a dead teammate. Transforms the user into a skeleton. | Wizard Hat | The Book of Bones is extremely rare. Check Ancient Luggage and pristine Altars on every run. |
| Bing Bong Badge | Find the Bing Bong plush inside the crashed airplane on the Shore. Carry it to the summit and board the helicopter with it. | Propeller Hat | The toy spawns in the airplane wreck (not random luggage). It takes an inventory slot and squeaks every time you jump. Plan your loadout around the missing slot. |
| Bookworm Badge | Collect and read all 8 Torn Pages of Scoutmaster Myers' journal. | Broken Glasses | Scrolls spawn at random campfire locations. Cumulative across runs. Community trackers post daily scroll locations. |
| Animal Serenading Badge | Play a Bugle (standard or Bugle of Friendship) near Capybaras in Alpine or Mesa hot springs. | Crab Hat | Capybaras spawn exclusively in hot springs in the Alpine and Mesa biomes. Use community daily trackers to find them. |
| Megaentomology Badge | Fall into an Antlion sand trap in the Mesa, sustain a bite, and escape the pit. | Scratch Marks | Requires deliberately falling into an Antlion den. A teammate with a rope can haul you out. |
| 24 Karat Badge | Retrieve the Golden Idol from a Mesa Tomb and carry it to The Kiln. Throw it into the lava. | (Verify in-game) | The Golden Idol is heavy and takes an inventory slot. Like the Bing Bong run, plan around the lost slot. |
| Resourcefulness Badge | Let your hunger drop below 60%, causing starvation hallucinations. Interact with an unconscious teammate who appears as a giant roasted chicken. | Pointed Teeth | A morbid co-op badge. Coordinate with a friend. One player starves, the other goes unconscious. |
| Needlepoint Badge | Complete a run using only pitons for resting (no natural rest spots). | (Verify in-game) | Place pitons for every rest stop. Do not stand on any natural ledge to recover stamina. Extremely difficult on higher biomes. |
The Bing Bong Badge is a fan favorite. The toy makes a squeaking sound every time you jump. Carrying it through the entire run is a genuine challenge because it takes an inventory slot that could hold food or tools. Look for the plush specifically inside the crashed airplane, not in scattered luggage.
