100% Badge Guide

Tactical Quick Answer

PEAK has 54 badges, which are the game's Steam achievements. In game they are called Accolades, viewable from the pause menu, and each shows up as a physical badge that unlocks a cosmetic in the Passport. Collecting all 32 original badges unlocks the Crown. Only one badge is difficulty-locked: Undead Encounter cannot be earned on Tenderfoot, because zombies do not spawn there.

PEAK uses a badge system for its Steam achievements. The game calls them Accolades, and you can see the full list from the pause menu, where locked badges are grayed out with their names replaced by question marks. Each badge unlocks a cosmetic in the Passport, the customization item you use in the Airport.

There are 54 badges. The game launched with 32, the Mesa update added 10, patch 1.30.a added Bundled Up, and the Roots update added 11.

info

Collecting all 32 original badges unlocks the Crown hat. Note that sashes are not badge rewards. Those come from the Ascent ladder, covered in Co-op and Ascent Guide.

warning

Two things gate badges. Undead Encounter cannot be earned on Tenderfoot, since zombies never spawn there, which makes it the one exception to "any difficulty works". And badges are disabled entirely during Custom Runs and Mini Runs, so nothing you do in those modes counts toward completion.

Nothing is permanently missable, though. Every run starts fresh from the Shore.

Zone Badgesโ€‹

Awarded to all living players when the campfire at the end of the biome is lit, even if you were just revived.

BadgeHow to UnlockCosmetic
BeachcomberClimb past the Shore.Straw Hat
TrailblazerClimb past the Tropics.Fedora
ForestryClimb past the Roots.Gnome Hat, Gnome Costume
AlpinistClimb past the Alpine.Aviator Hat
NomadClimb past the Mesa.Desert Hat
VolcanologyClimb past the Caldera.Tropical Outfit
PeakReach the Peak and escape. Light a Flare at the summit to call the helicopter.Scoutmaster Hat
info

You cannot earn all seven in a single run. Roots replaces Tropics and Mesa replaces Alpine, so any given expedition contains exactly one of each pair. Five zone badges per run is the maximum, and you need a second run on the opposite rotation to finish the set.

warning

Zone badges went missing on some runs before patch 2.01.a. That patch fixed an issue where scouts sometimes did not get achievements for completing biomes after loading an auto-save or reconnecting to an ongoing game. A zone badge that failed to fire after you rejoined a session should now award normally.

Zone Challenge Badgesโ€‹

Same trigger, but you must keep a status below a threshold for the whole biome.

BadgeHow to UnlockCosmetic
Bundled UpClimb past the Alpine without ever exceeding 20% Cold.Ice Blue and Ice Pink outfits
Cool CucumberClimb past the Mesa without ever exceeding 10% Heat.Gallon Hat, Cowboy Outfit
Tread LightlyClimb past the Roots without ever exceeding 25% Spores.Plague Doctor Hat and Outfit

Cumulative Badgesโ€‹

These track across all your expeditions, so they arrive on their own eventually.

BadgeHow to UnlockCosmeticTips
High AltitudeClimb 5,000m total.BandanaOne full expedition is 1,920m, so this is roughly three summits. Progress counts in 5m increments and does not begin until 25m.
BoulderingPlace 10 pitons.Anime EyesPlace them whenever you have spares.
CookingCook 20 meals at campfires.Chef HatAny item cooked counts, edible or not. Throw everything on the fire.
ToxicologyRestore 200 total poison by using items.Vampire TeethCure-All, Antidote, First Aid Kit and Medicinal Roots all count. Healing someone else credits you, not them.
Calcium IntakeBlock 100 total damage with Fortified Milk.Third EyeFortified Milk is a rare packaged item from luggage that grants 15 seconds of invincibility, or 25 if cooked once. Any affliction except Weight counts as damage.

Foraging, Food and Lootingโ€‹

All of these must happen within a single expedition unless noted.

BadgeHow to UnlockCosmeticTips
PlundererOpen 15 luggages in one expedition.EyepatchCounted per player, so do your own looting.
ForagingEat 5 different berries in one expedition.Tongue OutCounts unique items, so a Green Crispberry and a Red Crispberry are two different berries. Shroomberries count. Feeding a berry to someone credits you.
MycologyEat four different non-toxic mushrooms in one expedition.Mushroom HatShroomberries do not count here.
Advanced MycologyTry all 5 Shroomberry types in one expedition.AntlersRed, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple, all in the Roots. Since patch 1.43.a, Red and Yellow are always beneficial, Green and Blue always harmful, and Purple can be either.
GourmandEscape after cooking and eating a coconut half, a honeycomb, a yellow winterberry, and an egg.Monster Eyes, Aggro MouthSee the Yellow Winterberry note below.
NaturalistEscape without eating any packaged food.Flower Crown (Midsummer Hat)Raw forage and cooked marshmallows are fine, as are Cure-All, Pandora's Lunchbox and Hot Dogs. Fortified Milk counts as packaged and will break the run.
Competitive EatingEat 3 Hot Dogs in 5 seconds or less.Drink HatEach campfire rolls one item per player at roughly 37.5% Hot Dog and 62.5% Marshmallow, so this realistically needs a group hoarding them. Being fed counts.
CryptogastronomyCook and eat a Mandrake.Sprout HatRoots only. A Mandrake has a 50% chance of replacing a Medicinal Root and looks identical until you pull it. Once uprooted it screams every few seconds, inflicting Drowsy on everyone within range, and it cannot go in a normal inventory slot. Cooking silences it and grants -25 Curse. Bring a Portable Stove.
tip

The Yellow Winterberry is not the trap it is often described as. It restores 30 Hunger, grants 35 bonus stamina, removes 50 Heat and heals 20 Injury. It is purely good for you. The only difficulty is finding one, since it has just a 0.5% chance of spawning on Alpine trees. The reliable route is the capybaras: one always sits on a capybara's head at the Alpine Hot Spring or the Mesa Oasis.

Climbing Badgesโ€‹

BadgeHow to UnlockCosmeticTips
EnduranceClimb 50m upwards without touching the ground.Ninja HeadbandGrabbing a piton or other climbing tool counts as touching the ground. Vines do not, so a long vine is the easiest route.
Knot TyingPlace 100m of rope in a single expedition.BowRope Spools and Anti-Rope Spools hold 12.5m each, and Rope Cannons and Anti-Rope Cannons hold 7.5m. Eight spools clears it.
Speed ClimberEscape the island in under an hour.Courier HatSkip looting and keep moving. Some sources call this the Hasty Badge.
BalloonEscape without taking fall damage.Balloon Shorts or SkirtStricter than it sounds: you must not take Injury by any method, including Ancient Luggage, Antlion attacks and zombie bites. The name comes from the reward, which is a nod to Russell in Up.
Leave No TraceEscape without placing anything on the mountain.Groucho glassesBanned: Anti-Rope Cannon, Anti-Rope Spool, Chain Launcher, Checkpoint Flag, Piton, Portable Stove, Rope Cannon, Rope Spool and Scout Cannon. Allowed: vines, Shelf Fungus, Cloud Fungus, Magic Beans and the Rescue Claw.
AeronauticsAchieve flight.Astronaut OutfitSix balloons at once. Each Balloon cuts gravity by 18%, and a Balloon Bunch counts as three, so two Bunches also work.
MycoacrobaticsBounce up 40m off a mushroom.Fairy Hat and OutfitBounce Fungus in the Roots is the intended route. You can finish the 40m by grabbing a vine, aiming a Rescue Claw high, or floating on balloons after the bounce.
ArboristReach the top of a really big tree.Real EyesThe thick-trunked Big Trees in the Tropics. Luggage sometimes spawns on top, which is a good hint you have found the right one.

Survival and Hazard Badgesโ€‹

BadgeHow to UnlockCosmeticTips
SurvivalistEscape without ever losing consciousness.Scoutmaster OutfitAny loss of consciousness disqualifies you, not only stamina depletion. One of the hardest in the game.
Lone WolfEscape the island in a solo expedition.Wolf EarsNo safety net, but every biome is completable alone.
Web SecurityEscape a spider's web and survive.Mummy Hat and OutfitA Roots spider drops on you, inflicts 25 Web and hauls you upward, then deals poison every second. Mash jump to break free, since each press removes 5 Web. Expect a long fall afterward.
Undead EncounterCure yourself from a zombie bite.Pumpkin HatGranted once you clear the Spores from the bite. The only badge you cannot earn on Tenderfoot.
MegaentomologySurvive an Antlion attack.ScarYou do not need to fall in. Approaching within about 19m triggers it. Take the damage, then get roughly 48m away without dying.
NeedlepointHave a lot of cactuses stuck to you.Sun HatFive or more Cacti stuck to you at once, each inflicting 20 Thorns. That much will knock you out, so the trick is picking them off at the last moment. Cacti you are merely holding do not count.
AstronomyLook a little too closely at the blazing sun.Matrix GlassesUse the Binoculars on the sun in the Mesa. It does no damage.
ResourcefulnessGive in to your hunger.Labu MouthCannibalism. At 70% or higher Hunger, other scouts appear as walking roast chickens and you can eat one. It clears your Hunger, adds 10 Curse, and kills the scout you ate. They do not need to be unconscious. If cannibalism is toggled off, eating a Cooked Bird works instead.

Co-op Badgesโ€‹

BadgeHow to UnlockCosmeticTips
Happy CamperReceive 5 Morale Boosts from campfires.Cookie Shorts or SkirtA Morale Boost fires when a campfire is lit with at least two scouts nearby, meaning you plus one partner. Everyone in range gets +25 bonus stamina and credit.
First AidHeal your friends for 100 points of injury in one expedition.Medic HatCarry bandages and First Aid Kits and patch people up after every hazard.
Emergency PreparednessHeal an unconscious friend with an item to save them from death.Sailor OutfitDirect item applications only. A Faerie Lantern or Remedy Fungus will not count.
ClutchResurrect 3 scouts in a single expedition.Sailor HatAny method counts: Ancient Statue, Scout Effigy or the Book of Bones. One player revived three times counts as three.
ParticipationHave a friend escape the island without you.Castaway OutfitGranted to all dead players when the team escapes.
MentorshipHave a 1-on-1 with the Scoutmaster.Inverted EyesSee below.
Disaster ResponsePull an unconscious friend 30m with the Rescue Claw.Climbing Helmet and Climber OutfitCredit goes to whoever fires the claw. The target does not have to be unconscious when the pull starts.
info

Mentorship is more specific than it looks. The Scoutmaster spawns only when there are at least two active players, the highest player is below 1320m, and that player is at least 160m above the second highest. The game checks every 30 seconds with roughly a 10% chance. The badge then fires when you get within 40m of him while you are his target, not merely when he spawns.

If you are playing solo, the Scoutmaster's Bugle forces him to chase you for two minutes, which is the reliable route.

Secret and Mystical Badgesโ€‹

BadgeHow to UnlockCosmeticTips
EsotericaObtain a mystical item.Wizard HatFires the moment you pick one up. Mystical items come from Ancient Luggage (always exactly one, and opening it costs 20 Injury) or from an Ancient Statue, though a statue only yields an item if every scout is alive. The pool includes the Anti-Rope Spool, Anti-Rope Cannon, Bugle of Friendship, Cure-All, Cursed Skull, Faerie Lantern, Pandora's Lunchbox, Scout Effigy and the Book of Bones. Since patch 2.01.a, picking up an Amulet such as Scout's Ambition also awards the badge.
Applied EsotericaResurrect a friend using unholy means.Skeleton OnesieUse the Book of Bones on a dead teammate's skeleton. They come back as a living skeleton. Using it on yourself does not award this badge.
Bing BongHelp Bing Bong escape the island.Propeller HatThe plush always spawns at the Crash Site on the Shore, and also inside the Airport photobooth. Escape with it in a scout's inventory or Backpack. Every player earns it, alive or dead, as long as one living scout carries it out. It weighs 5, so it genuinely costs you carrying capacity.
BookwormRead the Scoutmaster's final journal entry.Broken GlassesOpen 8 Scrolls, each revealing one Torn Page of Scoutmaster Myres's diary. Progress is per player and cumulative across runs.
24 KaratOffer The Kiln a worthy sacrifice.Bing Bong BeanieCarry the Ancient Idol from a Mesa tomb to The Kiln and throw it into the lava. It weighs 40, the heaviest item in the game, but it grants invincibility while you are actively holding it. Picking it up also awards Esoterica. All living players get the badge when it is destroyed. Since August 11, 2026 the Kiln cycles out with a variant biome, so the badge needs a run that draws both the Mesa and The Kiln.
UltimateCatch a Flying Disc from 100m away.VisorThe disc spawns only at the Shore crash site. It also counts if you pick it out of the fog wall after a throw of 100m or more.
DaredevilShoot across the Mesa canyon in a Scout Cannon.Racing HelmetYou have to land in the target zone on the far side.
Animal SerenadingPlay the bugle for a capybara.Kril HatCapybaras appear only at the Alpine's Hot Spring or the Mesa's Oasis. The standard Bugle, the Bugle of Friendship and the Scoutmaster's Bugle all work. In the Alpine, look for rising smoke.
tip

Scroll spawning changed in patch 1.8. Scrolls now appear in chronological order regardless of where you find them, and they have a chance to spawn every run instead of being fixed by the daily seed. Community trackers that post "today's scroll locations" are working from the old system and are no longer useful.

First summit runโ€‹

  1. Zone badges pop as you leave each biome. Expect five, not seven.
  2. Cooking and Bouldering tick up in the background. Cook everything and place spare pitons.
  3. Plunderer is easy to fold in, since you are looting anyway.
  4. High Altitude accumulates without effort.

Second and third runsโ€‹

  1. Foraging, Mycology and Advanced Mycology on a Roots rotation.
  2. Gourmand, once you know where to find a Yellow Winterberry (check the capybaras).
  3. Animal Serenading at the same capybara spot.
  4. Knot Tying and Endurance, which just need the right wall and enough rope.
  5. Happy Camper and First Aid come naturally in a co-op group.

Targeted runsโ€‹

  1. Speed Climber, skipping all looting.
  2. Naturalist, eating only forage.
  3. Bing Bong, giving up a slot for the whole climb.
  4. Balloon, taking no Injury of any kind.
  5. Bookworm, opening scrolls across several runs.
  6. 24 Karat and Daredevil on a Mesa rotation.
  7. Tread Lightly, Cool Cucumber and Bundled Up, one per rotation.

Endgameโ€‹

  1. Leave No Trace, placing nothing at all.
  2. Survivalist, never going unconscious.
  3. Lone Wolf, solo.
  4. Needlepoint, surviving five embedded cacti.
  5. Aeronautics, hoarding six balloons.
  6. Applied Esoterica and Esoterica, which depend on mystical item luck.
  7. Resourcefulness, which needs a willing victim.

Frequently Asked Questionsโ€‹

How many badges are in PEAK?

54. The game launched with 32, the Mesa update added 10, patch 1.30.a added Bundled Up, and the Roots update added 11. Collecting all 32 original badges unlocks the Crown hat.

Are any PEAK badges missable?

Nothing is permanently missable, since every run starts fresh from the Shore. But badges are disabled entirely during Custom Runs and Mini Runs, so those modes do not count toward completion.

Can you earn PEAK badges on the easiest difficulty?

Almost all of them. The one exception is Undead Encounter, which needs a zombie bite, and zombies do not spawn on Tenderfoot at all.

Can you get all seven zone badges in one run?

No. Roots replaces Tropics and Mesa replaces Alpine, so every expedition contains one of each pair and five zone badges is the maximum. You need a run on the opposite rotation to finish the set.

What does the Resourcefulness badge actually require?

Cannibalism. Once your Hunger reaches 70 percent or higher, other scouts appear as walking roast chickens and you can eat one. It clears your Hunger, adds 10 Curse, and kills the scout you ate. If cannibalism is switched off, eating a Cooked Bird works instead.
