The Hell Achievement​

Hell arrived in patch 1.2.21 on 2023-03-24, which added the Hell area, Suicide Island, the Charnel Voodoo NPC, and the Rumour Man NPC in one go. The chain runs:

  1. Defeat at least one Legendary Pirate. The Rumour Man states this outright as a precondition.
  2. Buy Arsenic from a Witch Hut. You need one vial per crew member plus one extra, because Charnel Voodoo takes a dose himself. His dialogue counts it for you, and the option grays out if you are short.
  3. Sail to Suicide Island, which shows on the world map as a purple tile.
  4. Speak to Charnel Voodoo and choose "Perform Mass Suicide".
  5. Survive the arena. The sky turns red and you fight waves of skeletons. Players consistently report 15 waves, though the developer only ever described Hell as "essentially an Arena mode" without publishing a wave count.

The Rumour Man in town explains all of this, but he is a hint NPC and not a gate. You do not have to talk to him first.

At least one player has reported performing the mass suicide and getting an ordinary Game Over instead of Hell, with no explanation offered in the thread. Save before you attempt this.

A Note on Console and Legacy Lists​

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions have a much shorter list of 12 trophies, not a longer one, and the names differ. Console carries "Set Sail" and "Around the World", which do not exist on Steam, and its version of Meta! names David Welch and Rodrigo de la Pedraja and not Kirpu and Poysky. A console walkthrough will not match the Steam list.

Titles like "First Steps", "Shipwright", or "Pirate Hunter" appear in neither list and are not real. One achievement genuinely was removed: MERRY CHRISTMAS 2014 existed in earlier builds and was gone before the 2023 revival, so some old lists total 30.

Pixel Piracy has no Terraria-themed achievements, but the Terraria crossover itself is real. Re-Logic published the game, and the Bananarang, Blade of Grass, Starfury, Night's Edge, Excalibur, and Tizona all appear in Pixel Piracy as weapons.
