Achievements

RimWorld does not have official Steam achievements for the PC version. However, the RimWorld Console Edition (PlayStation and Xbox) features a full set of trophies/achievements.

This guide covers the console achievements and provides tactical tips for unlocking the hardest ones.

info

If you are playing on PC and want achievements, the community highly recommends installing the Vanilla Achievements Expanded mod, which adds a full achievement system directly into the game UI.

warning

Altering scenario parameters to enable cheats, utilizing the insta-build glitch, or reducing the storyteller difficulty mid-playthrough will immediately and permanently disable tracking for high-tier achievements on that specific save file.

Progression Achievements

These achievements unlock naturally as you play the game and expand your colony.

AchievementDescriptionTips
Launch ShipBuild a ship and launch it to escape the planet. This is the standard endgame goal. Focus on researching starflight basics and securing a massive amount of plasteel and advanced components.
Friendly AITravel to the friendly AI ship and escape. The AI ship spawns on the world map. Pack a caravan with enough food for a multi-season journey.
Wealthy ColonyReach a total colony wealth of 1,000,000.Accumulating wealth exponentially scales raid difficulty. Do not hoard high-value materials without simultaneously investing in equivalent defensive capabilities, or you will cause a catastrophic colony failure.
Population GrowthHave a colony of 15 colonists.Storytellers actively resist population spikes and reduce random joiners to 0.02% once you reach 15. Active recruitment via prisoner subjugation or Ideology rituals is strictly required.
Warp Speed SurviveComplete the primary escape sequence in under 2.5 in-game years on Strive to Survive difficulty. You have exactly 150 days. Rush deep drilling, fabrication, and aggressively use transport pods to bypass terrain movement penalties.
Life...uh...finds a wayLaunch the ship on the maximum 'Losing is Fun' difficulty setting.Exploit aggressive wealth management (keeping value artificially low until the final reactor sequence), rely on impassable mountain chokepoints, and extensively use psychic insanity lances against high-value targets.

Combat and Survival Achievements

These require surviving specific threats or executing specific combat maneuvers.

AchievementDescriptionTips
Mechanoid SlayerDestroy a mechanoid centipede.Centipedes are heavily armored. Use EMP grenades to stun them, then focus fire with armor-piercing weapons like charge lances or uranium maces.
Infestation ClearedSuccessfully defeat an insect infestation.Choke points are your friend. Force the insects to fight your melee blockers one at a time while your ranged pawns fire over their shoulders.
Survive the WinterSurvive your first winter in a biome with freezing temperatures.Stockpile food before the first frost. Build heaters and provide parkas for all colonists.
Thrumbo HunterSuccessfully hunt and kill a Thrumbo.Thrumbos are incredibly dangerous. Draft your entire colony and focus fire. Do not engage in melee combat unless you are prepared to lose limbs.

Medical and Crafting Achievements

AchievementDescriptionTips
Master SurgeonSuccessfully install a bionic body part. You need a high-level doctor, a medical bed, and good medicine. Do not attempt bionic surgery in a dirty room with herbal medicine.
Masterwork CraftingCraft an item of Masterwork quality.Have a colonist with level 15+ in crafting or art continuously produce items. The "Inspiration: Creativity" mood buff guarantees a high-quality result.
Organ HarvesterHarvest an organ from a prisoner.Select a prisoner, go to their Health tab, Operations, and queue an organ extraction. Be warned: this applies a massive colony-wide mood debuff unless your Ideology permits it.

Note: This list covers the core structural achievements for the Console Edition. Always double-check your specific platform's achievement list for full tracking.
