Achievements
RimWorld has no official Steam achievements on PC, but RimWorld Console Edition on PlayStation and Xbox ships 24 trophies, or 23 achievements on Xbox where there is no platinum. They cover research milestones like fabrication, colony goals like recruiting prisoners and reaching 22 colonists, one-off events like detonating an antigrain warhead, and a handful of hard challenge runs on sea ice, Naked Brutality, or Losing is Fun. Only two of them name a difficulty setting in their unlock condition.
RimWorld does not have official Steam achievements for the PC version. However, the RimWorld Console Edition (PlayStation and Xbox) features a full set of trophies and achievements.
The console version is a separate product ported by Double Eleven. It launched in July 2022 with the base game and Royalty, gained Ideology in April 2023, and stopped receiving content there. It has no Biotech, Anomaly, or Odyssey, and it sits somewhere around PC version 1.3. That is why the trophy list is short and why nothing on it references the later expansions.

If you are playing on PC and want achievements, the community highly recommends installing the Vanilla Achievements Expanded mod, which adds a full achievement system directly into the game UI.
Difficulty matters for exactly two trophies, and it is written into their own unlock text and not enforced globally. Warp Speed Survive needs Strive to Survive difficulty or higher, and Life...uh...finds a way needs a game where the difficulty never changed from Losing is Fun and commitment mode is switched on. Plan those two from the first minute of a run, because you cannot repair either one later. Players sometimes claim that cheats shut down trophy tracking, but there is no evidence of a blanket tracking shutdown for using Cheat Mode or God mode, both of which are official Double Eleven features and not glitches.
Research, Crafting, and Trade

Storytellers push back as you grow, because population intent falls to zero around a dozen colonists and goes negative beyond that, so late growth has to come from deliberate recruiting and never from random joiners.
