Getting Started

Roboquest is a fast-paced FPS roguelite. You run, shoot, and die, then spend the wrenches you earned to upgrade your basecamp. Here is how to survive your first few hours.

Never Stop Moving

Movement keeps you alive. Standing still gets you killed.

  • Use auto-sprint: Turn on auto-sprint in the options menu. This frees up your focus for dodging and shooting.
  • Slide and jump: Slide to avoid projectiles and jump to stay unpredictable.
  • Stay aggressive: Enemies drop Healing Cells when they die. These cells disappear fast. Push forward to grab them and keep your health up.

The Core Loop

Every run starts at the basecamp. You choose a class, grab a starter weapon, and head into the first level.

When you die, you lose your weapons and perks. You keep your wrenches. Spend your wrenches at the Workshop to unlock permanent upgrades, new classes, and better starting gear.

Managing Abilities

Your class has a primary ability and a melee attack. Use them constantly. They run on short cooldowns, so holding onto them hurts your damage output.

Use your primary ability to clear groups or deal burst damage to bosses. Use your melee attack when an enemy gets too close or when you need a quick burst of movement (like the Recon's Blink).

Mid-Run Saves

If you need to step away during a run, the game allows you to save and quit. This feature was added in the 1.5 update. You can safely exit to the main menu between levels using the "Save & Quit" option. Do not select "Basecamp," as this will forfeit your run and wipe your progress.

Look for Secrets

Levels are not just straight lines. Look for hidden paths, dig spots, and safe areas.

  • Data-Logs: Finding these gives you a quick boost of three wrenches.
  • NPCs: Friendly robots hide in safe areas. Some give you quests to unlock permanent gadgets.
