Resource Management

Running out of gold completely stalls your progress in Swag and Sorcery. You need gold to heal heroes, hire new ones, upgrade buildings, and buy crafting recipes. If you handle your loot poorly, you will end up stuck with low-level gear and no way to afford upgrades.

A strong economy relies on refining materials, not dumping raw loot in the market.

Do Not Sell Raw Materials

When your heroes return from the Magical Forest with a pile of wood and animal skins, do not sell them directly to the store. Raw materials sell for almost nothing.

Instead, put those materials into the Smithy and the Hunting Lodge to craft weapons and armor. A basic sword sells for significantly more gold than the raw iron ore and wood required to make it. Keep your crafting stations running constantly to turn cheap materials into high-value items.

The best gold-farming strategy is not running adventures for flat gold drops. Mass-produce high-tier armor and sell it on the Market. Crafting is the primary economic engine, not adventuring.

Managing the Fashion House

The Fashion House is the premium sales channel for your crafted gear. Judges rotate through and award points based on how closely your hero's outfit matches their preferences. This is not random. Every judge has specific material styles they love ("Wishes") and styles they hate ("Hatreds"). An inexpensive item that perfectly matches a judge's preferences will outscore a Legendary item that clashes with their taste.

Event Colors

Fashion events also have color themes that stack with the judge's preferences. Matching the event color gives you a head start before the judge even evaluates your outfit.

tip

Check the event color first, then check which judge is active. Craft cheap items in the matching color and style to win contests without burning expensive materials.

Prioritize Essence Research

Essence is the most important resource in the game for long-term progression. You need it to unlock spells and passive upgrades in the Library.

The first research to complete is "Essence Absorption," which costs 150 gold and takes 30 seconds. Once it is done, your heroes can harvest magical essence from defeated monsters. Without this research, you cannot access the spell system at all.

Build the Library as soon as you unlock it and start Essence Absorption immediately. Every minute you delay is essence your heroes are not collecting on their runs. Check the Spells and Magic guide for details on what you can unlock with essence.

The Auto-Heal Trap

Healing your heroes at the Church costs gold, and the price scales as your heroes level up. The game offers an "Auto-Heal" toggle that automatically heals returning parties at the Church. Do not turn this on.

The auto-heal function charges a flat, maximum-value fee for a full 100% heal and rest cycle. It charges the same amount whether your hero lost 99% of their health or just 1%. If you have a party that took minor scratches on an easy run, auto-heal still charges the full premium. This drains your gold reserves fast.

warning

Heal manually at the Church or rely on in-combat healing spells to save gold. Only use auto-heal if you have more gold than you know what to do with.

Retreating from combat instead of wiping also saves healing costs. A wipe charges the maximum revival fee, while a retreat leaves your heroes at whatever health they had when you pulled them out.
